Tire sizes for stock 96 4x4

My stock suspension, single cab, shortbed came factory with LT235/75r15s. Can any one help me with the biggest i can put before they rub, or explain to me how to measure so i can see for myself? Also i have seen leveling ring kits for $129, are they worth it, if so how difficult to do, and is a realignment unavoidable?
Thanks

Cameron

I have 30's on my truck (2WD), and there's plenty of room. You could probably go with 31's or even 33's.

265/75/15 is essentially the metric equivalent to a 31/10.50/15. Hope this helps. Oh, and they will fit on a stock truck, mine has 31's on it with no rubbing or clearance issues, my truck is a 94 extended cab 4x4.
