92 F150 Lift
Hey all, well finally got time to work on the truck... I am looking at lifting my 92 F150 R Cab. I am curious about a few items. I have seen the 2.5" lift kit used to put 33x12.50 under a 92. Has anyone else done that, or had any issues with it? Don't want to buy two lift kits
Next I see the rough country sells a 2.5" and 4" lifts, but you get the choice of Add-A-Leafs or blocks. Does anyone have any recommendation on which way to go, and what the differences might be?

You don't need any lift to fit 33s - just space the front bumper forward ~3/4" and they'll fit fine.
If you get a suspension lift, the BEST method on the rear is new longer springs with more arch. Add-a-leafs will give a much rougher ride, and blocks are slightly dangerous because they commonly spit out during hard wheeling.

OK, thanks for the information. I am curious if you dont lift the truck do you loose anything (wheel travel, or turn radius) that I should be aware of?
So if I did do the lift, you are recommending I buy the rear-springs from the same company or such? Or have new ones made for the lift?

IMO, I would do a 2.5" lift if you are going to offroad with the truck. While you can fit 33" tires on the stock suspension you arent giving the rear end the room it needs to bring the 33" tire into the wheel well properly. Even with a 2.5" lift a new spring with more arch would be a better way to go, instead of the block or the add-a-leaf. just my .02

Rancho has a really nice kit that raises the front 2.5" and no lift for the rear, it basically levels the truck so the front dosent have the "rake" look. In any case, I would get ahold of Dever springs and see what springs they have for the rear that would be good for what you are gonna do, such as offroading, street, etc. It would also be a improved ride over stock as well

The wheel is FURTHER into the well with NO lift than it is if you push the wheel 2.5" further OUT.

well just fer input i run a 93 f150 with a 4" procomp lift that is currently blocks but i am changing to re arches springs for less axle wrap and the fact that i have a sagging spring anyhow i run 33x10.50's which are kinda small but the lift helps in deep mud cuz i can run the pit faster than a buddy of mine with the same tires and he has no lift and more horsepower but i dont push as much mud with the bumper as he does and i have more travel for trails tooo. while u can clear them dont mean that it is optimal cuz i can clear 35's but also wind up with alot more mud build up in my wheel wells just my 2 cents
