Leaking!
Alright. went to go check my oil today... nothing, didnt register on the dipstick. so i crawled under my f-1shiddy to see where the h it was leakin'. well, i saw some drips near the back of the oil pan, towards the transmission, it kinda drips around and down over the starter (i think) and it drips down a couple of the oil pan bolts. im kinda thinkin oilpan gasket, so i dumped a quart of 10w-30 in 'er and it finally registered on the dipstick, so, over the last 5 months i had lost about 2-3qts of oil. if anyone else had had a similar problem. im not sure if i should just get it over with and fix it, or kinda wait it out and keep dumping some oil in it until something else goes wrong, i dont like to see my baby bleeding like this

this could be leaking from several places. Valve cover, pan gasket, rear main seal.. etc. so you need to clean every thing up real good so you can see where it is coming from. and if you have a leaking truck please check the oil more often. Fords are very forgiving of neglect but every thing has its limits.
What engine do you have?
Fords dont leak, they mark there territory.

its definitly not a head gasket cause its not dripping down the side of the block, just down the side of the oil pan, if it was the head gasket id have oil all over the block and valve cover, but its not so...
and i took it to get the oil changed today (cause im lazy) and i was talking to the tech and he agrees that its 99% sure its the oil pan gasket

oh yeah!
How low was it at the last oil change?
i dont think i lost 2-3qts cause i dumped 11/2 in and its back up to normal, but when i bough the truck (5months ago) it was normal
so the real question now is whether to just dump some oil in it every now and then and wait til it gets worse or something else goes bad
or
go ahead, spend the money, and fix it right
