Opinion on installing a locker

I have a 1994 F-150 XLT 4x4 with a 5.0L V8. I am tired of being stuck in conditions where only one tire will spin in the rear. I would like to get a locker that does not require me to take out the ring in the back, that way I do not have to mess with the depth settings for the ring and pinion. I have a 8.8 rear and so far have looked at Detroits EZ Locker and have heard good reviews about it.

So my question is, Do you guys know of any other lockers out there that are dependable, easy to install, and low in price, as the Detriot EZ Locker?

Thanks

I have the standard Detroit locker in the rear of my 94 F150 and an Auburn limited slip up front. I have not had an problems with either one and would do it all over again.

Mini-lockers are weaker, but if you're not doing any rock-crawling or mud-bogging, it should be good enough. Read this post. Years ago, there was a web site with a photo article about installing a PowerTrax lunchbox locker, but IDK if it's still up. Do some Googling. Post links here to whatever good info you find so that anyone searching in the future can find them.

Well here is the link to two different lockers that I have found. This one is the Detroit EZ Locker and is priced at $245.00 http://completeoffroad.com/wsm/i-691...__ford_88.html

And this one is the Powertrax Locker and is priced at $310.95 http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I have checked and both of these will work for my vehicle. Just curious if anyone recommends one of these over the other one. I found this article from 4x4Review.com's website http://www.4x4review.com/products/dr.../ez_locker.asp

Thanks.

The problem is that they both fit in the stock Ford 8.8" carrier. Many people regard the carrier as the weakest part of the 8.8" rear
