95 F150 4x4 XLT Rear Gas Tank

How hard is it to replace the rear gas Tank on a 95 F150 4x4? It has been empty for about a year and I'm getting tired of not having both Tanks. Bolts look really rusty that hold the straps. Any help would be great.
Thanks

It's as hard as getting those bolts off.

Check the receiver hitch for clearance if you have one. On my truck I could get the old tank out without removing it by bending the sides of the tank up a little, but putting it back in required removing the hitch.

Everyone has a different opinion on the line tools, I have mine in the gallery photos here and that's the one that worked best for me. Actually it's the only one that worked when I did my tank.

It's really not a bad job to do. Some do it from below, others remove the bed and do it from above. On my truck if I didn't have to mess with the hitch I could have been done in a couple hours max.

I prefer the pull the bed method. Might as well do yer front pump/sender too at the same time.

Click my signature link & look in the EFI Fuel Pump album. You might also be interested in the Fuel Pump Access album further down the page, but I wouldn't recommend that for a pickup. The Low Fuel Light might also interest you.
