P0443 code. Help Please!

The "check engine" light came on yesterday. I have a '96 F-150 XLT Supercab with the 5.8L auto. My truck seems to be running fine. I pulled the code and got a P0443 = EVAP Canister Purge Control Solenoid.
Where is this solenoid located? Is it easy to replace?
Thanks in advance.

I got the same code on my 97.

Did you get the problem fixed in yours? If so what did you have done?

I replace the control valve that is on the firewall in the engine compartment, but the code came on later that day. I've been trying to get information on replacing the control solinoid located between the two vapor cannister under the bed. but the part store only references the vapor cannisters them selves.

No I haven't. Not really. I cleared the code. It was fine for a few days. Then the code came back. Now I get a P1000 code.

Click on SEARCH, enter P0443, and then look for a post by me a little while back. I explained the error code and where to look.

As for the P1000, that will stay until all OBD-II monitor tests have run successfully (which it can't since you have a CP valve fault).
