clutch adjustment

i have an 89 f150 4.9 with the 5 speed mazda trans. is there any way to adjust the clutch? i just replaced it along with a new slave cylinder, master cylinder, and hydraulic line. the shifting is too tough and should be smoother.

It bleeds like a brake system. There is a bleeder valve on the slave cylinder just above the hydraulic coupling at the trans. Open it and let it gravity bleed for a while, then pump the pedal for a couple of minutes to let the air out of the new master cylinder. The pedal should get firmer the more pumps. Then you could try pumping and holding the pedal and open the bleeder just like brakes. Good luck,

Robbie
