Question Sway Bar Upside Down?

I am in desperate need of help. I just bought a 1986 F-150 4x4. I think the front sway bar is upside down. the ends are rubbing the coil spring and it rides stiffer than you know what. it hops all over the highway when you hit any bump. any info would be great. the way it is mounted now the rubber 'legs' on the end of the sway bar mount to the peice by the coil spring and go up to the bar. I think they should be going down. and the bar hits the frame on each side of the truck. I cant find a picture or any info anywhere it is very frustrating. thanks for the help.

Well, something is very wrong. When i climb on to the front bumper and jump up and down the front end doesn't budge. it's like the front springs are solid and oh so stiff. and i can see the sway rubbing in spots that it doesn't look quite right

I just went out and checked my truck, a 95 F150, 4WD.
The end of the swaybar bolts to one end of a C shaped piece, the other end of the C is attatched to a bracket just below the coil spring. The C is oriented downwards, away from the coil.
