'88 F150 I-6 to 351 swap, what do I need?
Its time to start working on 'ol reliable. Its the most dependable piece of iron I've owned, so even though its a little rough it deserves to be fixed up right. First order of buisiness is to get the new motor fit and the turbos mocked up. Heres my main question:
I'm pulling the EFI 300 6cyl out to install a freshened '95 351 EFI motor from an F150. I know I will need the ECM harness from a similar truck and the mass air meter stuff. Will the factory 6cyl K member work by changing to V8 mounts or do have to locate a donor K member as well?
If I have to get a K member I may just sell the 351 and put a single turbo on the I-6. Anyone done it?
Thx!

All you need to do is unbolt the six cylinder frame mounts, and acquire and bolt in the V8 mounts. This is strictly a bolt-in deal here. All the holes are already in the "K-member"(this is actually the frame of the truck). The trans will bolt right up also. You will need a new radiator and hoses that fit an 88 F150 with the 351.
Any further help, just post the questions.

I went through this scenario about 6months ago and I know it all too well. Why is it a must for you to find the mounts new instead of used? You should make sure you have ALL the wiring that goes to the engine you are using. I had to find a donor truck and I needed the harness from the top of the motor, the engine compartment harness, the dash harness, and the undercarriage harness. I wish you well.
