Best way to boost power??

I am looking for a cheap and easy way to boost power on a 91 f150 5.0. I am considering a dual exhaust system, and wanted to know of other ways.

To make power you need to get more air in and out of the engine. I would start with a cold air intake, like a K&N FIPK, and do a duel exhaust (cat back) and headers depending on your budget.

I'd lop off the cats in favor of a highflow one. Then run a 3" pipe from there back to your choice of muffler... I prefer Dynomax or Magnaflow.

Drop in K&N with hacked box works nice or you can get the Speed Density EFI K&N FIPK filter and two lengths of 3" piping and stick it on the end of the hose connections.

180° thermostat, and bump ignition timing to 13-15° BTDC. That's if you run 91+ fuel.

That's where I started... 5.0 Mustang shorty headers bolt up to a 302 but you can NOT use the stock y-pipe so you must fab a new one.

A mild TQ/RV cam or a 5.0 HO will make a big difference. E-fans, chip burned for the mods and to bring full timing in sooner, new heads, etc.

All depends on budget...
