Is the speedo in the 1994 all electronic, or is it combination electronic and speedo cable?

I would try to get A Ford Racing 190LPH fuel pump, they're bullet proof, 265-300 is a good price for a K&N FIPK

 

The speed sensor for the whole vehicle is the one on the rear diff. The code may be caused by a wiring problem. An incorrect vss signal can affect shift timing and quality however there are other possible causes as well. Bad fuel pumps wont cause bad gas milage.
