Thinking of buying a 96 & older F-150 Have?s

Ok right now I have 2 cars I can't use in winter. A 2000 lightning and a 87 mustang. I need something with 4X4, so I am thinking of a 95 or 96 F150 or bronco. Right now I am in the process of building a 331 motor for the mustang, But I want to sell the car and keep the motor. I would like to use this motor in the bronco or F150.

1.So my question is How well is the mass air system on these trucks. How well does it adapte to changes. Will it suport a 400hp motor
2.Has anyone ever done a mustang motor in either of those trucks. I know it comes with a 302 or 351 motors. I'm just wondering on the whole computer systems.
3 what other problems might I run into.

A 302 is a 302, doesn't matter what it was built for. Mass air will handle it, and companies make specific chips for the computers in trucks. Remember, a 4x4 needs torque, not horsepower to get through whatever you throw at it.

In 1996, they used OBDII. I don't know for sure what year they made the change in the trucks with 302's, but I believe the 95 was OBDI. In my opinion, what you are planning will go smoother in an OBDI system. I'd look for a 95.

The obd system is only for engine management. Use the wiring from the current vehicle, and intake system, and sensors, and the 302 will be fine
