changing positive cable on '92

Cable is bulging with corrosion. Couldn't find it at any parts stores, so had to pay $75 at the stealership. Just wondering if anyone has done it. It splits into two at terminal, then goes to starter relay. Where does the thin red wire go that travels down the engine? I've never seen such a complicated positive cable. Also, could this be causing slow cranking while hot, or is it the starter too?

What engine? Corroded cable will definitely cause slow cranking, even slower when it's hot because resistance goes up as temp goes up. It can also cause the starter to go bad, but in your case i think the cable will fix the problem.
