Head Bolts

Going to install mt Gt-40 heads on my motor tomorrow, my question is, are the head bolts from my stock E-7 heads going to be the same ones (size) as the ones for the GT-40 head ????

The 302 use a 7/16 head bolt, 351s have a 1/2 head bolt. If your heads came off a 351 then you will need a spacer thingy to make it work right. ARP sells bolts with a shoulder on them to make up the difference as well as a washer type thing that fills the void.

GT-40

Don't know if they are from a 351W or a 5 L in the explorers.

GT40 heads (3-line) require FRPP bolt kit M-6065-B289 when installing on any 289/302 block with 7/16" threads. GT-40P (Explorer) heads fit with standard bolts.
