Will injectors make the same noise as lifters. Have a loud ticking noise only when taking off and when giving more gas. No noise while at idle or at low cruising speeds on level ground. Please Help. Thanks.

 

I got the same thing. It's been happening for the last 10,000 miles or so. It didn't seem to hurt any performance or gas mileage on mine so I figured I'd let it go.

 

Probably an exhaust mnaifold leak which is fairly comon with the 4.9L, I had it at about 80k miles.

That's what I figured, then I found out Ford didn't put gaskets in there and figured the he!! with it. It don't seem to be hurtin anything so let it tick away. Besides now it sounds like a truck.

 

guarantee its an exhaust leak in the manifold somewhere, had the same problem.. posted it somwhere on this board, as someone asked what it was. common problem on the I-6. doesn't hurt performance, but sounds fawkin annoying, and people think your trucks falling apart... little do they know that its falling apart for completely other reasons... hehe

 

I would just check the bolts to make sure they didn't loosen up.
