100,000 Mile Club - 1995 F150 XLT
I am the proud owner of a 1995 F150 XLT with 158,000 miles. This truck has a 302 engine and has never quit me. I have replaced the starter and today I am getting U joints put in. She has been a good truck and no trouble. I can't understand it when I read where people think Chevy's are so great.
Thinking about getting a new vehicle but realize how expensive they have become since I bought my F150. I do wish however, that I got better gas mileage but I am sure that is a constant complaint from everyone these days. Besides, if a person buys a Toyota pick up 4 cyl. you really don't get much better gas mileage then I get on my F150. I care not to exchange a comfortable ride with a bumpy ride of a Toyota truck for just 5 miles more to the gallon. Not worth it.
Are there any more 100,000 mile drivers out there?

My dailey driver: 1979 F-150 @ 161,000 miles (still has orginal alternator). I would not be afraid to drive coast to coast in this truck. It still runs like a watch.
My Co. vehicle is 1997 F-150 S/C w/ 4.6L has 163,500 miles. This vehicle is all orginal, except brakes, tires, & rear springs & (2) lower ball joints. 1997 has had problems with trans. sensors twice.
One of our Co. affiliates in an adjoining state use Chevy trucks--they seem to have constant problems.

I just bought my 95 F150 XL for $1000 and have been cleaning it up for the past two weeks. It runs pretty good considering it has 227,000 miles and a rebuilt engine from who the heck knows when. Now that it is running fairly well, I was thinking about some short headers. I dont want the truck to be loud though, just have a little more power and have that throaty sound. Any ideas on what exhaust setup to get?
