Question 92-96 F-150 sucks???

everyone tells me that the 92-96 F-150 sucks. they say it has a flimsy frame,a crappy rear axle,a crappy twin beam suspension, etc. is that true? should a person be ashamed to drive or be seen in one of these trucks??

No in all honesty the frame is not very weak, trust me lol... I don't see anything wrong with the rear axle, its a 8.8 and they use those on stangs and they used them on the 97-up f150s. The twin i beam suspension is the strongest you can really find, its just a bit more to maintain. (bushings) I just don't like my bed! Oh yes, i've had to replace both rear leaf springs on mine... I've got 163,700 miles... And original clutch.

Are you purposely trying to cause trouble or something? You already started this exact topic not to long ago.

My 1994 F-150 Flareside Screw 4x2 is one of the best vehicles i've ever had.. While stock, she was great, and purty darn fast for a truck... Has the 5.8 and 3:55 rear gears...

It now has a 6" lift and 32" tires on 10.5" rims. I've just added 4:56 gears as well. My truck has 79k miles and runs and drives very well.... My cruise went out about 6k miles ago, but besides that and a few front end issues, it has been rock solid....

I have been at a Ford dealer for 19 years and I bleive these are the best years not counting the 04's which havent been out long enough to judge yet. As far as the lift , the frame will definatly brake in front of the engine cross member unless its keep on the highway (no offroading). Seen it happen to many times, only on lifted trucks. The 04 does look like it will be the best Ford ever. Just my $.02 worth.

I've never had a problem with my F150's or 350 frames or rears up to 93, a bit of trouble on spring hangers, but I had a 99 F150 and had probs with rear axles, and bad frame flex.

frames are strong, if ur worried, build some heavy duty bumpers, sure they will help. (thanks PHillip) flexes lots, but it ain't gonna break or nothin'. frames are strong on em for sure, stronger than any of these new trucks.
as for the 8.8 ford axle. axle shafts are as wide and big as a Dana 60, which ain't small, they are beefy. the only problem that i've heard of is with the carrier is weak. i'm runnin 33's and a ezlocker (dropin locker) and beat it regualerly, it hasn't broken yet, and i plan on runnin 38's in a few years, i'm not worried about breakin it, maybe the carrier, but thats cured by a fullcase detroit locker. a sterling 10.25 its not, but its not as weak as a 10 bolt chev rear axle.
overall, problems with my truck haven't come from frame flex or the rear axle, its all the other friggin ford stuff thats caused me problems.
just look at my sig, its held up so far.
later,
John
