Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just recently began searching for a reasonably priced remote start for my Platinum and it seems that there's always a trade off. Does this remote start system allow you to use the door keypad to unlock and disarm the factory alarm? I had read that some aftermarket systems didn't disarm using the door keypad.

Basically, are there any tradeoffs to installing this. Does it disable any other functions? I have this installed, along with the PATS module you referenced, and I get a remote start for my truck by using the new 6-button key fob? The old alarm works, etc...? Also, how much did you pay to have it installed? Just curious what my final cost is likely to be for your system, the PATS module, and installation. Thanks.

there is no factory installed alarm. this system serves as an alarm and remote start. This is one of the few systems that allows you to use teh door keypad to disarm the alarm. Expect to pay between $90 to $150 for install.
