I've been hearing people complain about this for years, but never saw a solution until now! My truck had them missing when I bought it, but it doesn't bother me that much. I have saved the site though, so I know where to go when I run out of mods and want to make the truck look a bit better

That company is going to make a ton of money! You would think Ford would wise up.

I cleaned mine with soap and water. Let dry. Then spray painted it with VHT NITE SHADE that I had left from an earlier project. I think it looks like new.

I pretty much did the same thing to mine, except I used a rattle can flat bumper vinyl paint, after masking off everything.

Bumped to put in my history... I need these. FYI the faded plastics get coated with showroom new black. Stuff keeps plastic black longer than stock.

On order. Got the HOWTO bookmarked for removal and refinishing of the cowl itself. My plan is to yank the cowl, thoroughly clean it, and then recolor it with Showroom New Black plastic dye. I will be redoing my bed rails and rear bumper pad at the same time. May redo the grille insert too. Want everything that is supposed to be black, well I want it black, not gray...

I figure the stuff works okay, I last did the bed rails 4 years ago...

Quality Product! Joined just to say thanks for all the helpful info and that these look better than the originals. I used "Wipe New" to get the Cowls black again. Been using this site for a long time but finally stopped lurking.
