it was pretty easy. first you reach in behind the bumper and squeeze the tabs to pop out the license plate lights. then you have to pry the black plastic step pad off the bumper and chances are that some of the clips are going to break, most of mine did and i went to the junk yard to get a replacement and there were 2 laying on the ground with the clips already broken off and one bumper still had one on but the clips broke when i tried to take it off. after that you just need a torx bit and i think a socket but i cant remember what size.

im in the same position as you chief i traded a guy my roll pan for his bumper but i ended up finding an fx4 bumper for a good price so now i have a bumper and hitch sitting in my garage waiting for something to buy it... i should just go get it powdercoated and painted and then maybe someone will want it
