Axle code; 26...for a `99 F150??
I have a `99 F150 4x4 SC, SB, Off-Road package, 5.4L with an axle code of 26 on the label on the door jam. I did a huge search on this site about figuring out axle codes, but everyone says that "26" means a non-limited slip 3.73 rear for an F250.
Why would my F150 have an F250 axle code??!!

So, you can see why I was a bit confused about what axle ratio I have.
If I do in fact have a 3.73 rear, then the fact that I got 18.4 MPG yesterday on a 200-mile round-trip at 70 mph is really impressive.

Do not get me started. You were not yet a member when I got my 2000 F-150 XLT 4x4 ORP. It wasn't until I found this site that I determined that the ORP did not come with a limited slip as standard.....Boy was I pi$$ed. Anyway, went ahead and had the Ford LS installed at the Ford dealership, just because I knew them well enough to know they would stand behind their work, and Ford HQ couldn't say it was shoddy workmanship that voided my factory warning, when it fact it was their own dealership that did the aftermarket install.....
You would think (which I guess the Ford designers don't do) that someone who indicates that they need an ORP would in fact be in need of ALL offroad assistance available. Being in Florida, I insisted on having AC in my F-150, but I did not make mention of a need for a heater. I sure hope I have a functioning heater should I ever need it. But of course, I didn't ASK for it, just assumed I had it, so I guess it's my fault if I don't have it, huh?
