Won't Ford service reflash ECU for gear ratio change?

Tire size change? Or is it cheaper to buy a programmer? I'm not interested in a programmer for any other purpose.

The dealers will usually do it for somewhere around $100. I would put that in on a programmer, maybe a used Edge or Gryphon. That way, you can change it yourself anytime you change tire sizes. Are you sure you don't want a towing tune or a shift tune? The tuners really make these trucks a lot more fun to drive. I could never be happy again with a stock tune.

Dealers can correct within a certain range, usually enough to cover all the factory gear and tire choices plus a little extra. If you're too far from a factory tire size or gear set, your only choice is a programmer.

I know the dealer re-flashed a 98 Mustang back to "factory" for me a few years back, prior to me selling the car. I had a dyno tuned Autologic piggyback on it. It had become a bit corrupted after 6 years. I think they got $150 from me then.

I just wondered if this is something folks here have done in lieu of buying a $400-500 programmer.
