Exclamation Need help plz!!

As i have posted on here before, my a/c goes to defrost when the engine is working hard(flooring it, up a hill in low gear, etc.) and ive check for vacum leaks, checked pvc valve, all good that i know of, as i was checking the pvc valve, somethign was sucking on my finger(LOL) on the left wall of the engine bay, this is what i stumbled upon...

Its that little black box that sits behind the battery, it has a hole in it from what looks like something burned it? Go figure? I think it has a small hose going towards the pvc valve or a/c, not sure, could this be it?
