Standard Q, since you didn't say.... Did you have your foot on the brake while in Neutral and shift out?

To shift into 4 lo, place truck in neutral with foot on brake then move switch to 4 lo. To come out of 4 lo, shift into neutral w/foot on brake turn switch to 4 hi.

If that procedure does not work, then your shift solenoid on the t-case is sticking. Crawl under the truck and give the solenoid a good healthy love tap with a ball peen hammer, that should get it to move.

Mine done that once. I just kept jacking with it and it eventually came out. I don't remember if I had my foot on the brake or not though.
