adding 4x4

I want to add 4x4 to my 88 f250 and i want to know what i need. I know this probably sounds crazy but i am tired of getting pulled out of the mud pit

I am wanting a Dana 60 front end if Dana makes them for Ford.

Thanks!

I looked around today and i think i may have it figured out.

1.Dana 60 front axle, Manual Hubs
2.Front drive shaft
3.Transfer case for C-6
4.Spacer thing (between transfer case & Transmission)
5.shorten rear drive shaft
6.shifter

Is that all i need? Will my 2wd front suspension (springs, shocks, etc.) fit on the Dana 60?

Thanks!

i believe converting to 4wd on that model year is just swap in an axle and add transfer case, etc.

the stock front suspension will work. some things on the dana may need to be changed (spring perces, shock mounts). not certain on that though.

I heard a Dana 60 from a 88 to 96 f250/f350 will swap out without any cutting or drilling, Is this right? If i have to go with leafs on the front it isn't that big a deal, Coil springs will probably give a better ride though.

Thanks!
