4wd ?

Ok guys I have a problem and looking for some direction on what to do to fix it.
I'm having issues with my 4wd system. I turn my selector switch to engage my 4wd and the light on the dash lights up and I can hear the transfer case engage but my front tires don't engage. I took the lines off of the vacuum solenoids on the firewall and they have vacuum to them but don't think they have any going out of them. I can manually lock the front hubs in if i take the vacuum lines off the solenoids and use a vacuum pump. Does this sound like I need new solenoids? or what. By the way this is on a 2001.

There should be vacuum to one of the solenoids while in 2wd, and when in 4wd, the other instead. Have you checked to see if any of the vacuum lines have cracks or leaks? If everything else checks out, it will probably be a bad solenoid.

Those lines tend to break between the battery box and firewall for some reason. IF that's the problem..

2008 and 2001 have a totally different setup. The 2 are not comparable.

Yea these have an actuator that sometimes gets locked up. If it not the solenoid as Kingfish (Marlin lol) suggests or the lines, - check the Actuator -

Sometimes they stick, you can free them up with WD40 and a cheap vac tool, -like a Mighty Vac -
