2009 supercrew; two piece driveshaft problems?

Anyone experience a vibration while towing (or even without towing) during accelerating from a stop?

Ford says the 'vehicle is working under ford specifications'. After a test tow with my 7600lb camper, the dealer's mechanic says the two piece driveshaft is not in proper alignment while under a load and therefore produces a vibration. I called Ford Motor to file a complaint and found out ford doesn't have a solution for the concern. I told Ford I'll go away when the vibration goes away.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Any resolve?

No fix but I've heard about it. Went from 1 piece to 2 piece for '09 and its been a mistake. Not sure what they'll do, but sure kicks their reputation in the nutz. New mighty F150.... Just don't tow with it.

You'd think the million miles of testing would find this?

04-08 has two pieces also my supercrew has a two piece i had some viberations in mine but ford never could figure it out and i broke my two piece drive shaft about a month ago and had a custom one built with all 3 ujoints serviceable and a serviceable carrier bearing and all the viberations are gone its so smooth now couldnt be happier tell ford you want them to take the driveshaft to a driveshaft company and have them balance it. thats the problem almost 100% positive. or buy a new serviceable drive shaft like mine rated at a 1000 horsepower for $600. btw our drive shafts are not serviceable you can not grease the joints or replace the u joints and they are pieces of crap

This is news to me I have a '07 SuperCrew and mine has a 1 piece drive shaft. Come to think of it, I never seen a 2 piece drive shaft on a 04-08.

I am pretty sure my 4x4 screw has the two piece. It has the 6.5' box though.

You would think this would be a tried and true setup, superdutys have had 2 pieces for years. Wonder if the longer leaf springs don't prevent axle wrap as well?

I have a 06 f350 and they replaced the driveshaft in it at 600 miles because it was out of balance

Sounds like you have had quite the driveshaft issues. Either you are really hard on vehicles or your luck is bad.

if its a 2 wheel drive supercrew with 5.5ft or 6.5ft box it will have a 2 piece, if 4x4 5.5ft box it will have a 1 piece, but its a 4x4 with 6.5ft will have 2 piece same with 04-08 models

BTW thats great news... Cause I was going to get a 5.5 and didn't want to worry about the potential 2 piece axle issues when hooked to my camper.

(6.5ft SCrew started in 2006)
