i would run at least a 37" tire if you are gonna go with D60's.

You wont have much clearance from Pumpkin to ground on 35's.

Id say with the 7" springs in the back and 8" springs up front you would be set for 37-39's

i get what you mwan about your camper though.

with minimal lift you will have to cut the IFS crossmember out to insure that it doesnt have clearence issues.

thats ok, my brothers been itching to hack it out... lol i have to hide his grinder when he hears something happened.

true, i never considered the pumpkins... twin 9" lol!

sounds like i'll have to keep my 4.88 gears and run the bigger tires, maybe i can steal the ones off the old mans diesel when he hands it over to my brother who wants to put it back to stock.

still thinking a coil front end will ride so much nicer than leafs.

the 99-05 d50 doesn't accomodate 4.88's... what else can i use? i could run 4.56 and 37s but that sounds hard on my trans... also dont have the true trac available for it either... wtf?

what ever i do i want something that has matching wheels and 4 wheel discs lol

Rocks are nice but require some lift to clear, aswell as quite a bit of maitnance. And have they been debraked and was wheel brakes installed on all corners if so then 2,000 for them is a good deal, if they are just the ROCKs with the pinion brake then 1k is a good deal. Another issue to think about by running rocks, your gearing will be 6.72:1 thats the only ratio in 2.5TON rockwells. They are also heavy. you will want to run at least a 44" tire if not bigger just do to gearing and weight

I think twin 9" would be a pretty good swap. But then again you have ALOT of power.

have you looked into the OLDER ford D60's King Pin High Pinion axles. they are gonna be expensive. Id run the Ford Front D60 (8x6.5 bolt pattern) and a GM 14 bolt (normally fairly cheap) If you can find an old bolt pattern D60 so it matches the 14 bolt.

true.. rocks are well, rocks... massive.

i really want the 10.5 rear, full float and i have wheels here for that axle. i just may have to suck up and take the d50 with 4.56, unless someone can use the d50 hub on the d60 front axle from the earlier models?

I'm curious if 4.56's on the d50 front and 37" tires will sit well over time.

i think 37's and 4.56's is a good combo. specially when you are blown.

i wouldnt worry about your transmission at all with that setup i believe it will be fine

yeah, im feeling more confident in just raping an f350 and getting 4.56 gears. true trac the rear... i want to do true trac front and rear but nothing shows up for the front when i look at the true trac.

yeah but you have a real d60, the superduty from 99-05 or 03??? had a dana 50 30spline, just barely bigger than a 44 all around.

i did however find that the 05 - present has a real dana 60.

trimble, did farmboy offer anything for a coil sprung front end? or was it just leafs? im hung hard on this one. i've found out 03-05 f350's use leaf sprung dana 60's, perfect fast and easy swap but might ride hard.

05+ f350 is a coil and radius arm dana 60. im sure this will ride nice but im not the most brilliant when it comes to finding angles and such.

either way i found a D60 front (both leaf and coil) and a 10.5 rear, i think i can get them for $1000. would be 8x170mm i have wheels for that, full float rear, both offer detroit true tracs.

btw, hows that truetrac feel? im torn on that in the rear vs another locker, i know i will not ever run a non selectable locker up front again. god i hate my front pig lol
