F-150 Wheel Bearing service

I have a 93 F-150 2 wheel drive with 137,000. Can someone tell me how often front wheel bearings should be repacked? I purchased the truck with 122,000 miles.

What is a good wheel bearing grease to use and with this many miles should I go ahead and install new bearings?

Thanks,

Santiago

The bearings should be checked and repacked every 30,000 according to Haynes. The Haynes book also recommends white high temp grease. I check them each summer (about 12,000 miles for me) just for fun. If I have downtime and a fully equipped farm shop, I may as well do something constructive.

When I change or repack bearings I use Sunoco lithium grease in all my farm equipment and pickups. I have had no issue with using a non-recommended grease. I figure if it has worked just fine in all my heavy equipment, why not use it my pickup?
