my quick guess would be with the ratio extremes, perhaps you were having problems sync'ing?

with your body style, the IWE solenoids are common problem? they tend to get a small amount of dirt or water in the line and then stop working? again this is just what i read before.

Why are you even trying to use 4wd with those ratios? I'm sure you realized when you only did HALF a job that you couldn't use 4wd till you finished the job.........

I can't prove it, but I'm guessing that you have trashed the transfer case.

Why would you ever think that two different ratios could work together at the same time? Something has to give.

the the T-case is messed up one way or the other.

theres no way for the power to get down to blow the diff. the reason that you cant have 2 different ratios is do to the gears inside the T-case. With to different ratios the driveshafts bind up and can rip apart the insides of the T-case

The unit that is hit first will be destroyed which would be the T-case.

But like i said early in another post. Ford may have some type of safty mechanism in the t-case that if this happens it breaks a less expensive part than destroyin the whole t-case. Thats just a geuss though.

trimble, the front pig isnt that strong, you may want to give the t-case a little more faith but not rule it out.

Probably never thought he would use his 4wd since he's running 24's......

Should've been prepared for it anyway

I have never owned a 4x4 and know nothing about them, but common sense tells me that if I change ratios in the rear and not the same in the front, that I have just effectivly made it a 4x2 with a lot of extra weight up front.
