Last year I had a detroit true trac installed at 4 wheel parts. I am very happy with it. It is gear driven so it won t wear out. I back a trailer up a dirt drive every week and I always hit the gas hard to make the tires break traction and both of them always spin. It is very quiet and worked great in the winter I hope this helped.

Blackedout50 --- have you had any issues with it at all...I'm looking to get the same one put in mine, love the planetary gear idea instead of having to replace the cluch packs every few years.

I have no issues at all with the unit. It is quiet on the street. I tow with it and when ever I get into a situation where i need it it locks up and the power is there. No problems or complaints. I have it in the 9.75 Rear. I also kept the same 3.73 gears in there with no problems. If you are worried 4 wheel parts guarantees there work for 1 year.

Thanks Blackedout....I've still got the 8.8, but going from 3.08 to 4.10s. My only concern was how they handle on the street and cornering. I'll be placing the order this weekend.

4wheel parts is one of the most unethical companies out there, do some research. i would NOT give my truck to them to work on.
