Angry 97 expedition 4x4 problems, 5.4l

Was out a few months ago in a severe rainstorm, switched from 2h to awd, indicator lights worked correctly then shortly after began to blink then went off, sounded and acted like it was still in awd or 4h, later that night truck shifted itself into 4L while traveling 45mph, took a day or so of sitting, and truck let itself out of 4L, indicator lights worked fine for a day or so,now the truck is in 2h, will not switch or indicate, awd,4h, 4l, I have read a lot about rain leaks and fuse box/ gem module issues, I don't think this is the case, seeing how I have never noticed it wet inside and have never had any other quirky electrical problems.... any suggestions... i think it is a bad shift motor on transfer case, is the best answer, taking it to the dealer and scanning the computer system....
ps.1) when key is put in and engine turned on, all indicator light in dash for 4x4 system flash correctly, but i don't hear the relays click on and off like I think they did before.... thanks , tom
