Rear end leak help!!!!!!!!!!

I have an 8.8 inch rear end and have noticed over the last couple of weeks it looks like its leaking right wear the driveshaft goes in to the rear end. Its not pooling on the ground but is obvioussly leaking on the housing. What could it be?

p.s. It looks like its under the driveshaft.

Cool Must be done correclty

Yes you can buy a rear pinion seal at Auto Zone. But, changing it is a little more complicated. There is a step by step proceedure in andy good shop manual. You will need some special tools but could get by with simple tools if you must. The key here is to get the torque correct when putting it all back together. ALWAYS replace the crush sleeve and re-torque to spec. (So a torque wrench is not optional)

Personally I would not attempt this yourself, Especially if you are a novice. Take it to reputable axle shop. Not a general repair shop. A good shop should be able to do the whole job around $100- $150. Well worth it. If you mess it up, you will screw up the pinion bearings. That will cost ya!

Good luck.
