bad shaking and burning smell????

guys, i have a 07 f150 screw with the 5.4 and 4wd. it starts to shake really bad and doesn't feel like it has the power it usually does. this has happened twice. it will shake really bad and smell like the rear end is burning up. then after i stop and take off again it usually goes away. the truck has 9,000 miles a 6" lift, 35" tires and 20" wheels. any help is greatly appreciated! thanks- brandon

Check your emergency brakes. Even if you don't have them on, they have been known to cause that type of problem.

First check how tight they are when you press the peddle. If the peddle goes down only a little, the are probably too tight. Second pull the rear wheels and rotors. Th e-brake pads are under the hat part of the rotor. Make sure everything is free and working smoothly.
As you have an 07, it is probably still under warranty. Best bet is tell the dealer what is happening and let them fix it.

thanks man! went to the dealer today, they drove it and looked at everything. they said nothing was wrong, no codes pulled, and e-brake was fine! so i figured they would say that anyway! thanks for your help!

Front or rear wheel well? Do any of the wheels feel hot to the touch?

If its a front wheel its probably a caliper locking up.
