96 f150 with auto lock hubs

I have a 1996 F150 with the auto lock hubs. There is a "C" shaped clip with a 90 degree bend in it that keeps the wheel retainer nut from backing off. I need a new one, but I can't find anywhere to get one. I've tried part stores, salvage yards, and the ford dealership. No one can get me just the clip, they want to sell me the whole hub kit for about $150. So I was wondering if any body knew of any place where I can get this clip? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!

does it have to have the 90 bend in it? im not familiar with the 96 style but not too unfamiliar with those hubs, they grenade pretty easy when wheeling.

what about a regular c-clip or whatever you want to call it. the style that has 2 holes on the open end to spread it open?

yes it has to have the bend in it, that tang is what goes into the wheel retaining nut to keep it from backing out. This clip doesn't go all the way around the spindle, it only goes around just over 180 degrees around the spindle

i can start asking my local parts stores to see if i can get a part # for you to try and order. i think i know what your talking about. but imo if it was me dealing with those hubs, i'd be real fast at tossing them, i hate em. warn hubs are awesome. also i thought i saw warn offer a different retainer mechanism. didn't pay attention to whether it worked with other hubs or just theirs
