My dealer says my right front axle seal is leaking $280 to fix. Is this something I can do myself? '01 f150 4x4. I just put front brakes and rotors in it about 3 months ago.

Must mean one of the boots is leaking or the seal from the front diff??

Sounds about right however... They will have to pull the front hub assembly off to pull the axle shaft to either replace the boot or get to the seal on the diff.

They charge a lot to do the rear seals too... The part only costs a couple buck, but you have to remove the entire axle to get to the seal... It's all labor.
