T bird S coup and 5.0 cougar... help me out

I may have found my hobby car, the 92 SC has a 5sp, body is rough, the 3.8 is rough as well, the 93 cougar has a awsome running 5.0, but othier wise crashed and trashed.

How hard is it to match up the 5sp manual from the sc to the 5.0, or would it be better just to find a 5sp from from a Mustang?

I'm not interested in rebuilding the 3.8 due to the cost facter, the 5.0 is two easy to swap in and the body on the SC is extreamly rough, but great for a enco beater/performance car.

booth cars can be had for a grand, my friend had great asperations, but the wife wants the cars out of her life...

Fix the 3.8 with the S/C. It will be faster. And more fun.

I don't know that the 3.8 will be faster than the 5.0, Granted the SC haul ass but out of the box the 5.0 in the cougaur is the better engine and will cost less to hop out, the 3.8 sc is cooked and I don't want the complexity of rebuilding a super charged engine when the 5.0 is basicly issue free.

Many answers to your questions will be found here. I personally have 2 SC's and a 4.6 bird. And a 88 Turbo Coupe that's for sale.

In fact I have some new ported, larger valve, beehive springed SC heads for sale too.

Yes the S/C will be the better option if you just want to get the car up and running. If your looking for adding performance mods later on stick with the 5.0.

If you really want to do the 5-speed and the 5.0 get rid of that M5r2 and get a T-5 and custom drive shaft.

Oh and yes sccoa and tccoa will give you alot of info!!!
