Carwash blower buckles 2015 F150 hood

Took my week old 2015 XLT FX4 Crew Cab to carwash, same wash I used on my 2010 with no issues. When the dryer blower hit the hood it bent down under the dryer stream! Yikes! It did spring back and I can see no visible damage, but it sure made my butt pucker when it happened. No more automated washes for me!!

Location was the drivers side riser, passenger side was fine..

I wonder if the hoods are made different for 2015. I know that all the F150's back to 1998 or so had Aluminum hoods.

Exclamation

Man!
Maybe they forgot to add some braces under your hood?

I got a 99, it is aluminum?

If I were you, I would be worried about cruising down the big road at 70/80 mph with a 70 mph head wind hitting you.

I seen the Ford advertisements about the all aluminum Ford. Maybe it is a thinner grade they are using for the weight saving?
Supposed to be military grade?

I believe you, nice color.

Why don't you talk to a Ford representative about that?
And I don't mean the dealer you bought it through.

Someone in design.

My buddy is a clean freak and washes his pickup almost every day.
He has one of those accounts for so many washes a month at the car wash.

Now say you wash it 6 times a month and it is flexing the hood up and down like you say. I would think it can't be good for the hood?

Why don't you take it through one more time and take a good video of it?
Something like that breaking from washing should be covered under the warranty right?

I took my pickup through the wash twice, in it's 16 years life so far.
I like to hand wash. But that is kind of hard to do in the winter, I just got new polished aluminum rims and have been thinking about getting an account just for winter washing.
That crap they throw on the road plays hell on all the metal!

One more time take a video, you might end up with a you tube sensation.

Car wash has insurance for things they damage. It would be an "outside influence" and Ford would deny the warranty claim

It could be just "that" blower.
the blower could be at a different angle or the wrong angle.
You did say the pax side didn't do it.

Remember the automated car washes use chemicals in the water to help clean the surface but they disolve the wax too.

This is in his first post, it might have been added?
Location was the drivers side riser, passenger side was fine..

In all my years I have been to the brush-less car wash maybe twice.
And it was in the winter because of the snow and crap they spray on the roads!
And for the reason you just added, I haul chemicals to a couple of places that make the soap for the car washes. Plus don't they use the same water over and over?
I don't like car washes for my pickup truck.
I rather hand wash, most of the time I just use plain water. If I plan on waxing right away I will use soap, or if it is very dirty I will use a little Dawn dish detergent soap.

I don't think the hood should flex very much in the first place. After I read his post I went outside and tried to make mine move, I couldn't.
But I have a 99, maybe the metal is different on his.
