Fender Bender Help!!

My dad got in the first fender bender of his life (knock on wood) in a parking garage, he backed into the car and there is a small dent in the bumper. But they want $1200-$1500 for it! Ill post some pics, please tell me if that price is correct.

Yeah that looks reasonable. Rear cover, absorber, kink in the deck lid. from the pics i'd say that's $1500 all day.

Heat it up with an hair dryer or heat gun and slowly push it out. It works great for plastic bumpers. There are also videos on youtube that shows how it's done. Good luck!

Good luck pushing that dent out of the structure of the deck lid with a hair dryer!

What all did they write for? Any way you can post the estimate?. Sometimes with these rear hits its more then just the bumper cover. There is damage to the decklid and possible damage to the rear bumper absorber and reinforcement. There is also possible rear sill or rear body damage. It is not uncommon to see these types of hits cost that much to fix. It just depends on what may be damaged underneath.

I work at a shop in rosenberg. I noticed you had rosenberg on your lic plate. If you would like to come by I could take a look at it for you. PM me if you want. I will give you our info.

I'm guessing that the pic is of the guys car that he hit. If it was your car, that someone else hit when it was parked in a parking garage, would any of you be ok with, let's just take a hair dryer to it and get most of it out....? Absolutely not. You would want to have it repaired properly, with only factory parts. Nothing aftermarket, no fillers, ect..... If it was your own car, and you backed it into a wooden power pole, it would be a totally different story. Bottom line, If ya want to settle outside of the insurance companies, tell daddy to open his wallet and bend over. Might be best to find a stick to bite down on too.....

He hit it. Parts and labor are expensive. Why doesn't he tell his insurance company to take care of it. That is the reason you pay those high premiums. I have used the heat gun technique on a friends Lexus SUV. Not bad results but not perfect. They hit a snow bank in their own driveway, no one to sue. lol
