Paint chips on my bumper

i have some very nasty paint chips on the front bumper of my black 2007 F-150. i got into an accident about 2 years back and had to have the entire front bumper replaced and painted...the shop did a ****ty job. they actually painted it twice because the damn paint kept on chipping. their excuse was rocks from the road hitting the paint...i have had many vehicles before this one and had never had such "road rocks" hit my bumpers before. i was supposed to take it back a 3rd time and they could never seem to fit me in to their damn schedule and then ofcourse the warranty on the paint job ran out. anyways...i was wondering if anyone could tell me how much it would cost to repaint the front bumper. the chips are everywhere...and some are even getting bigger and allowing rust to set in. please email me at jpcool184@hotmail.com

You will get better results posting this in another section...the chips referred to in this section are computer chips for tuning. Perhaps moderator can move this?

For minor stone chips, I have always used touch up paint. I put it on thicker than the surrounding paint. Then, using 1000 grit wet sandpaper, sand the area down level, move to 2000 grit wet paper, then, when it is nice and smooth, a good quality polishing compound (I like 3M Finesse). When all is finished, a good quality wax to seal the job. Usually turns out pretty good. Your problem sounds a bit more advanced, though. If it's all over, I would consider a good repaint. Good luck.

jp , i had the same exact problem my bumper was fine until i got into an accident over a year ago. they replaced the bumber and painted it. ever since then im getting these nasty chip. i took it to the body shop, argued with them about it and the repainted it. few months later as of last week i noticed it happening again. luckily my body shop provides a lifetime warranty as long as i own the truck. so for now im just touching it up until it gets worse, and il prob bring it back to him.
