2001 SuperCrew rear window leak

Anyone else having issues with your rear sliding window (upper drivers side) leaking when it rains or when you go in a car wash??? Mine leaks bad...anyone know how to get the rear window trim off so I can throw some caulk around the window seal???

Thanks,

- Justin

Hey Justin, mine is leaking too. From what I have found out you will have to remove the headliner and all of the trim around the inside of the back glass. There are bolts that hold that trim on as well as some of those plastic pins that spread once pushed through the holes. But the hard part is it looks like you cannot just remove the trim. From what I am finding out, looks like you will have to remove the whole window. I haven't tried that yet. I found several links on the web about how to do it. Google it and check out what others say too.

Well, I just took mine to a glass place and they said that they see that alot. I stayed there and watched them take it out. You need to take the plastic rivits off and then the 2 up on the head liner. You should be able to get to the nuts. You will only take out the ones for the glass and not the plastic peice. Be carefull when taking out the glass, ( they wouldn't replace under warr. if they broke it). Once you have it out then take the glass out and then get the new sealer for the window you should be able to find it at a auto paint and body supply place. Next, just put it back in. Mine leaked in the same spot just right behind the driver side.
