Fuel door housing question.

Hey guys,
Went to fill her up today and noticed that my fuel door was wobbley as hell and was no longer spring loaded. I could litteraly reverse at a low speed and have the fuel door swing open by itself. Looked under the bed behind the housing and noticed that the tension rod that kept the fuel door inplace and spring-loaded had snapped. I found the housing online but what I want to know is, are the hex bolts that mount the housing to the fuel filler pipe the only thing that is keeping the housing in place? I mean it makes sense because the housing is ment to keep the filler pipe aligned with the opening in the fender, so I don't think it needs to be too heavy-duty, but I just wanted to make sure before I went ahead and changed the housing.

thanks........
