My new truck came with it already, they usually charge like 600.00 but did not include in my price.

My exprience, and I did this job at a dealer many years ago is that the quality is not always that great. They always wanted me to skimp on product which caused problems with me.

If they do it right, cover all areas not just shoot the wheel wells this can be a great product. I think how you are going to use the auto should determine if you need it. I just got rid of my 01 2x4 that looked just as good as the day I bought without any undercoat.

But.. I kept it clean. And they use a coating on the parts EDP I think its called that helps prevent rust on newer autos.

I think the new Truck being a 4x4 will still get cleaned as well but if I off road or something I would want to have the coating to cover the areas that you cannot get to easily with a hose.

My wife had a S10 Blazer that we only drove in the snow and no coating and it rusted the wells, brake lines , shock housings and much more. We had the habit of 4wheelin and then park allowing the salts and such to set on the parts and cause rust.

Again, if you get it make sure they cover the underside well.

On the paint cover, my problem is they (my dealer)do it after the do the undercoating and I had all this overspray. I had to remove and then claybar then rewax but that probally removed the bonded product that they had applied.

Valuewise I only would get the undercoat and you can do all the rest to your standards ie, Paint and ScotchGuard. We used to do a rustproof of the inner panels but with the coating now I dont know if that is necessary.

Sorry, I get long winded. Its why I dont post very often.
Yes they can spray the shocks, as long as its only the housing and not the piston rod.

Cool

Undercoat is a good investment, helps keep Road Noise down somewhat and is especially useful in the Northern Areas for protection from salt on the roads, gravel for traction, etc.
The Paint Sealant is a rip off, costs the Dealer about $1.00 per vehicle. Thats not a misprint, thats One Dollar per vehicle. That's a rip off.

Always take the undercoat, best off being safe. A rusted underbody not only looks bad, but will lead to problems in the future with corrosion growing more and make it pretty much unsafe.
