searching for an installation expert

Hey all.

I am looking to upgrade my audio system, and wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations for choosing an installer. I don't want to go to the best buys or circuit cities, and have some teenage kid jacking with my truck.

I'm in the Chicago, IL area. if anyone has recommendations for a audio installation business, I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks and best regards.

I dont know about circuit city but ive had best buy install several decks for me and they have done a good job so far. they dont cut wires and they will use a harness that plugs into the factory harness in your dash. plus since they do it all the time it only takes 45 minutes if they arent that busy. and after they installed it they will show you how to use it. sometimes they run specials like buy a deck and get free installation.

just my .02 cents

What are you looking to install?

If it's speakers and the head unit, go to www.crutchfield.com and order from them.
Crutchfield will give you detailed instructions and all the necessary "e-z" fit harnesses and adaptors that you need.

I've got an amp and a sub. was contemplating some custom install into the back wall of the truck behind the rear seats...so I can put the seats down, without having a box underneat...If I can't do that, I'll probably go with a box from subbox.net.

Any ideas on a good shop that does installation?

Thanks.

One good place I would recommend is Sounds Unlimited in Lake Station, IN. Take I94 E to Hwy 51S. Follow 51S for about 4miles. I think its 3 or 4 stop lights. Look to left. You will see a turning sign that says "Sounds Unlimited" with a cartoon of a 57 Chevy Nomad. The owner is Dave Arndt. Excellent work!

Sounds Unlimited is located at 3649 S Randolph (Hwy 51S), Hobart, IN and can be reached @ (219)963-0206. Dave is a great guy. He custom built my box for me for only $60 and it is sweet. I have seen many of his installs, all are insane.

Almost forgot, check his website @www.sounds-unlimited.com
Hope this helps. Just so everyone knows, I am not an employee or was aksed to post this or anything. I am just a very satisfied customer.
