Factory HU plugs??

I just bought a 97F150 and it only has a cassette player. I have an old Sony CD player laying around that I took out of my wifes '95 escort before she sold it. Are the plugs that I used on her escort the same that I will need? There is two and they are straight I didn't count the pins though. Thanks

For a '97 F-150 those plugs will work as long as your truck didn't come with a premium sound system with a seperate amp. In that case only one of the two plugs will work (the one with power/ground/dim) and the speaker plug won't. You'll need to get a new amp bypass harness to connect the speakers to the aftermarket deck. You'll also need to buy or make a dash kit to fit the DIN sized deck into the double-DIN dash opening.

Thanks...the amp bypass is only for the premium sound right? I'm not sure I have it, but I don't think I do. Any certain mounting kit to avoid? Thanks again

Yes, the bypass harness is only if you have the seperate "premium" sound amp. As for the dash kits, I haven't used one on my F-150 (the system I'm working on now still is using the factory deck with a 4-ch LOC) but Metra and Scotsche seem to make ones that work well.
