signal loss

Hello all, i recently replaced my heater core in my 99 4.6L 2wd.

Ever since i pulled the dash out and put it back in, i only get local radio stations, where as before i would get stations from areas hours and hours away. It is almost like i lost signal power. I pulled out the radio and made sure the antenna wire was plugged in properly at the back of the radio , as well as the other end that plugs into the antenna it self. They were both ok, what is my next step?

Mast? meaning the actual antenna? if so Yes it is still there. I even purchased a new one thinking that was the problem, but nothing changed.

do you remember unplugging any antenna like connections in your dash? A lot of cars have a junction somewhere up behind the glove box or down in the kick panels.

How did the replacement go? I need to do mine soon.

That was my next question, Is the antenna cable 1 piece from the radio to the antenna? or is it 2 pieces joined at some point?
