Someone told me only Sanyo, Audiovox, or Alpine can get the job done. Is this true? Can anyone give me some links, ideas, or information so I can begin my research? Heres my info:
1998 F-150 XLT
Stock deck (with auto-set if that matters)
6 Disk changer, also stock.

If someone has already replaced their deck with a new one and it's properly controlling the cd changer, please tell me what brand and model you got.

There is no after market deck that will control the stock changer. The stock changer is a Clarion OEM which "speaks Visteon" for control. Visteon is Ford's supplier for Audio and other electronic devices in the vehicles. You could swap your head for various Visteon heads with features you like but if aftermarket is what you want you will need a new changer as well.

Thanks for the info. I was told the same thing by a local car audio specialist. Fortunately, he was able to sell me a wiring harness that all I had to do was plug in and it gave me two sets of RCA pre-outs without effecting the stock speakers or their amp.
