Post fizzled cd changer

I own a 99 lightning with an Ford oem premium stereo (am/fm/cassette/cd changer).
Following a recent post, I relocated the cd changer from behind the seat (vertical) to under the seat (horizontal). It worked great for two days then the entire system (head unit and cd changer went out). I found a blown fuse and replaced it and this restored the head unit just fine, but now the cd changer will not work. I've found no other blown fuses, nor can I find a separate fuse for the cd changer. When I hit the changer control on the head unit, I receive a display that reads...NO CDDJ. The changer will not eject the 6 cd magazine, so I have to assume the cd changer itself is receiveing no power. Any advise would be appreciated. The truck is still under warranty and I've made an appointment, but I'd rather not spend the day in the dealership and getting spanked for relocating the changer unit. My next option may be to install a ford head unit with the 6 cd changer built into the head unit. Will this work on a 99? Thanks for any advise.......
