I am debating on putting a wall in my 2004 f150scab, i was wondering if anyone has done this yet or not. I have a few ideas of how i wanna do it, and plan to go with 4 12"s and lotsa highs. if any1 out there has one culd you post up sum pics of what youv done? just tryng to get a better idea of what i can do.
thanks guys
If doing a full wall and removing the rear seat, you had better put more than 4-12s in there. All of that space, go big or go home. But that is IMHO.

Hey projektlift150, I have to agree with yetti. I can't see any reason to wall an F150 S-cab unless I was going to run at least 4 15"s.... if not 6 of them. Or even 4 18"s. You should have plenty of space for that.
Another thing to, when you said > Plenty of highs < You do mean, Plenty of "highs, mids, and mid-bass" don't you ?
IMPO, tons of bass is a "really easy" thing to accomplish, creating enough highs, mids, and most especially "mid-bass", and then making it all balanced is the hard part.
BTW, I also have an S-cab, which I had planned to rip the rear seats out of > before I even considered a high end stereo, with sub box < just because for me (and even for many of the guys who will tell you otherwise) rear seats in a truck are completely useless.
So I don't think your crazy for doing that.
But if all you want is 4 12"s, you really don't have to wall it.
On the passenger side in the back, remove the small seat (leaving the larger part of the rear seat) and build a little pillar in that corner of the truck. You should have room enough for 4 12s if you stack them vertically, and plenty of air space depending how far forward you have the box extend. Imagine a floor to ceiling box that fit nicely in that corner of the cab... I dig the idea.
But why does everyone always act like removing the rear seat is such a big thing ? I see Supercabs after Crew Cabs all day, every day > with NOBODY in the back seats < !?!?
Like I said, when I was basically pressured into getting a Supercab, I got to the point where I finally said, "Fine. But I'm yanking that worthless back seat out in the first week"......and that was months before I even considered an upgraded stereo, or sub box.
Wide open, in-cab storage space sounded way better than that lame rear seat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My point is, it's not like, "Well, you can have this big powerful stereo system "but" you will have to lose the rear seat"....... $#!+ no ! It's more like, "You can have this big powerful stereo system "AND" as a fat bonus, you can get rid of that lame, worthless rear seat too ! It's a win, win situation" :-)
There ! That's what I meant to say to begin with :-)
Peace,
Fish
PS, "1 time" since I yanked out my rear seat, I might have had a rear seat passenger....
I was going to take a buddy for a sterep demo, and his girlfriend asked about going along, to which he replied.... but remember, he doesn't have a back seat. I didn't tell her my center console folded up That way, my buddy and I could listen to the stereo, instead of his girlfriend ;-)
I agree with you Fish in that losing the rear seat is not the end of the world, as I only have back seat passengers occasionally. For me however, the rear seat is used just enough that I would like to keep it, hence my decision to oust the center jump-seat in the front to make room for my sub enclosure and center console.
hey guys thanks for the replies! iv always had good luck with this site and with help with my truck n im sure we all appreciate everyones input.
But i guess i did do wrong in my first post by saying building a wall, im really not building a full wall, because i use my rearview mirror when driving all the time, so i am technically building a half wall i guess u culd call it. i am only having it cum up to the bottom of the rear window, thats why i was thinking just going with 4 12s. and yes i am going with all the sound i can, i have some highs and mids right now, i plan to jus get rid of the back door speakers because i think theyl be useless with how im building my box, and im thinkn about haven the box go from door to door, and angle down that way the back seats will be able to lean back somewhat. Then i plan on making a smaller box across the top with all mids and highs to level out the sound and make it nice and clear when at high volumes.
What do you guys like for highs and mids(brand wise)? right now i have 2 beymas and 2 gt crunches, the crunches arent the best but they produce decent sound, where i am really impressed with the beymas they have a very clear and crisp high to them i think. My buddy had them in his old truck n sold it so i got them off him and they really impressed me when i could hear him coming down the highway to my house. But i tend to kind of stick to my own preferences, like iv had alot of kicker audio and have always been impressed with how they sounded in my truck. my last system me n my dad built a very nice homemade ported box for my 2 12cvr and took the middle jumpseat out and had the box there and had alot of compliments on it, and it was louder then my buddies truck n he had 4 12s in his. so im still kinda leaning towards doing all 4 kickers.
I also agree on the whole back seat thing, iv had my s-cab for about 3 yrs now, and i always have ppl wantn me to tote them around and it jus gets old, plus in not like theres alota room in the back like my dads s-crew, and i got sick of it so i decided to take the back seat out so i can only have 1 person with me lol plus im big into audio so i figured why not go bigger then what iv had in the past lol. plus even with the size of the box im gunna build for now, if i go with 4 12s i will always be able to upgrade to 2 more and do 6 if i feel like getting crazy with it, haha but with what im doing is still going to be more then what most ppl round here have done, i havent seen any trucks in this area with a wall/half wall built in them, so i just want to step it up and see what i can do to start out in some audio comps. plus if any of you are from n.e ohio and know of a good audio shops, or some1 that might be hiring i am trying to get into a shop right now lol
if any1 has any more input lmk, even if u want to bash me for what im doing lol its all fine with me n everyone has their own opinions, like i always say opinions are like a$$holes every1 has one!
thanks guys!
I dont know what to say. A wall behind you with 4 sloppy kicker subwoofers, and all your midrange and tweeters behind you too? You were impressed by Crunch and Beyma speakers? Honestly, I think you will be happy with ANYTIHNG you put in there. Seriously.
not soo much the crunchs but i got them for a good deal. i do like the beymas tho, to me they seem to put out really clear highs and they dont distort, on the other hand the crunchs distort at higher volume, which i really dont wanna use. if you have any ideas on some nice highs lmk cuz i am always open to anything that other ppl say sounds good to them. I do have my beymas ran off a 450w x4ch amp so their not running off the h.u idk iv been impressed with my kickers i have, with just 2 of them i can flex the hell out of the roof. plus they got more bass then my buddies 4 american bass 12s he has.... so i cant really complain right now
but like i said im open to all suggestions any1 has.
