Ok, theres no whine when the 500/1 isnt on. But if the amp is on and doesnt have RCA's plugged in the whine is back. Where are you unplugging the RCA's the amp or the deck?

I have a distro block for the ground and the power. I was going to change my grounding spot until i unhooked the 500.1 and noticed that it was only in that amp so i figured it wasn't the ground spot.

Any suggestions?

I wonder if the 500/1 is bad/has a bad ground and is backfeeding through the power wire to the distro block and to the other amp? Just throwing ideas out there...kinda stumped on that one.

Or are all the RCA's ran seperate from the power wire(like down opposite sides)? If not I wonder if the draw from the second amp is causing interference from the RCA's whereas one amp isnt enough to cause it?

I kinda thought the same thing, but im definately no expert. I may have not done enough trouble shooting and be totally off on this as well. Im going to pull the amp today and put in my brand new 500.1v2 and see what happens

The rcas are down the passenger side sill and the power is down the drivers side. they only cross where the 0/1 ga is running up to the dist block and the rca to the sub is running to the amp. but i still get the noise even when those rcas arent hooked up

Yeah, but if the 4 channel RCA's are right next the the power wire, with the second amp on there is more draw coming through the power wire to power the second amp, which could be causing the interference.

OK... I think I have found the problem... I was going to take the amp out and hook up my other 500.1 to see if it was the amp. i took it off the back wall and started up my truck to see how it sounded. NO NOISE!! I attach it back to the wall and I have noise again...

Im assuming that my screws that are holding the amp to the sheet metal are causing the issue????

If that is the case, why is the same thing not happening with the 300.4? its attached the same way.... 1 inch self tappin screws... 1/4 inch masonite with carpet, sound deadening and then sheet metal

Should I redo the amp board with 1/2 inch mdf and use 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch wood screws so as not to hit the sheet metal??

When I first thought about attaching my amps on the back wall I assumed that screwing into the sheet metal would be a bad thing, but I thought that i have seen some pics of amps screwed directly to the sheet metal....

Any suggestions?? Thanks

I used 3/4 MDF boards and 3/4" screws so it doesn't hit the sheetmetal. I have ZERO floor noise.

my amp is grounded to the floor of the cab and i mounted it on the back wall with the screws going into the metal, no issues with noise on mine.

Sounds like an overlapping ground problem.
